What is "EKO Actions"
Voltar ao topo

Kofre's "Eko Actions" is a program to help consumers recycle their radiobatteries, so that the common terminal equipment is not thrownin the trash. To make surethe program works, two parts are essential.

Your Part:

Deliver or request collection of your battery* to technical assistance Motorola - SAM, at the headquarters of Kofre Telecommunications.

Our Part:

Give the correct destination for the equipment that pollute the environment and reuse the components and recyclable metals.

KOFRE AND THE ENVIRONMENT:

For years Motorola has been concerned with environmental preservation and the high consumption of appliances on the planet. The objective of "EKO ACTIONS" is to protect the environment, so that harmful materials do not affect nature. In addition, Motorola wants to cooperate to reduce the uncontrolled extraction of metals and also increase people’s responsibility to keep our planet an inhabitable habitable place.

The "EKO ACTIONS" is one of the initiatives of Kofre for the environment. Many other projects of corporate responsibility are made by Kofre and may be conferred on our site. Do your part! Take your old battery for SAM and let Kofrebe responsible for the recycling process. To learn more, users can get in touch by phone (71) 3277-7015.

Why Recycle?
Voltar ao topo

- Because it helps to preserve the environment.
- The process of degradation of the material may take years, since some contain small amounts of cadmium, a heavy metal which is a potential polluter of the soil.
- Because it prevents the extraction of precious metals and chemical elements in soil on the planet.

How is recyclingdone?
Voltar ao topo

1. The battery is placed in a special box for the deposit of the material.
2. When reaching the maximum storage capacity, the batteries are sent to the Motorola campus in Jaguariúna according to the guidelines in ABNT (Brazilian Technical Standards Association).
3. From there they are transported to the French company SNAM (Société Nouvelle D'Affinage Des Métaux), where the recycling is done.
4. After recycling, the battery is destroyed and only the metal products and components are recovered.
5. While cadmium is turned into 99.99% of purity, steel and nickel are sent to the steel mills to be processed into stainless steel.
6. The plastics and printed circuits are incinerated to generate electricity.

Batteries are extremely useful daily, but may harm the ENVIRONMENT if no one correct destination after entering into disuse.
The improper disposal of used batteries can cause serious risks to the environment. The process of degradation of the material may take years, since some contain small amounts of cadmium, heavy metal which is a potential polluter of the land.
